Everywhere you go, there is art. This is especially true around Mercer Street and surrounding areas. We bumped in to painter and film maker Ernest Rosenberg and talked about his inspirations, his favorite artists as well as what he is currently working, which includes a painted story involving celibacy and an AK-47! MUSIC: Artists' Take on Band Posters and T-Shirts @ Insound Event, NYC

Since their launch in March 1999, Indie rock online mail order store Insound have championed the best and most exciting the underground music scene has to offer. With an increasing following among musicians, labels, fan- and music-zines, Insound has cemented themselves as the go-to place for discovering bands on the verge of breaking in to the music scene at large. New York bands such as Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Pains of Being Pure at Heart and The Rapture have all benefited from these music lovers impeccable taste. Launching their first pop-up event, Insound partnering with artist duo Sonnenzimmer and Jason Munn to create a gallery space bringing together art and music, a selection of limited edition band posters and t shirts were on sale along with design-oriented audio products as well as old-skool vinyl listening stations. VINTAGE: The Pattern Market

We took a stroll through Dalston and came across the new pop-up vintage/art/fashion boutique 'The Pattern Market". Curated by the London-based style guru Amechi Ihenacho, the boutique features an art gallery, selected high-end, vintage fashion, which Amechi hand-picks from around the World, hand-made wall paper, selected vintage art and fashion books, hand crafted lamps and much much more. ART: Introducing Estonian Artist Küllike Pihlap

Having just finished a slew of exhibitions in Estonia with her series of images being described in the media as representing "The Landscape as a Concert Hall" Küllike shares her thoughts on Artists' Creativity and their Audience.

 - Musicians and artists both have the ability to generate innovative ideas and manifest them from thought into reality. The process involves original thinking and then production. Some use instruments, others colors, canvas, pencils, crayons etc.

"Rhythm II"

The process of creation was historically reserved for deities creating "from nothing" in Creationism and other creation myths. But there are others who don't have  the capabilities or desire to create themselves. However, this does not mean that they do not enjoy music or the arts. The audience is important to the artists for generating feedback. Listeners and viewers enjoy the emotional charge, atmosphere and they get a sense of joy from the creative output by for example musicians.

Creative people have a need to create something all the time. It is a need that wants to get out and can not be suppressed. To live a full life, Creatives need to develop their work, deal with it, to experience, to see the results and to communicate with their audience. - Küllike Pihlap.
